The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) of Grand Forks, North Dakota was founded after the flood of 1997 as a way of coordinating and unifying services among the Catholic parishes in Grand Forks. Each of the parishes had their own human need services and the decision was made to place all of those services under one roof to better serve the community. SVDP offers Emergency Financial Assistance for those in crisis, a Food Pantry, Cars for Cause, Forward Movement Program, Transitional Housing and Permanent Supportive Housing.
